Senor Kaos - Walk Softly & Carry A Big Brick (Download)

Atlanta’s own, independent emcee Señor Kaos releases a new project titled, “Walk Softly & Carry A Big Brick.” For Kaos, the project title means to stay focused, strong in one’s convictions and to do so without being seen as a threat. When it comes to music, Kaos is soft spoken about his emcee abilities, but his lyrics hit listeners square in the face and serve as a wake up call for all other emcees. Kaos uses the title as an announcement to any formidable opponents on the microphone to be prepared.

The project features guest appearances by Bun B, Wale, 4-Ize, Punchline, Jaspects, Stacy Epps, 4th Pyramid, John Robinson, Stahhr, Homeboy Sandman and many more. The project also includes production from Large Professor, DJ Spinna, 9th Wonder, Von Pea, Jake One, 2 Hungry Bros. and others.

Jazmine Sullivan - Jumpoff featuring Señor Kaos and Coultrain (Wajeed Remix)

"Here's a un-released song from Jazmine Sullivan Feat. Señor Kaos & Coultrain Produced By Wajeed (Platinum Pied Pipers/Bling 47) for her last album "Fearless." The song didn't make the album, but it's still a great record that needs to be heard." -Señor Kaos

This is infotainment here, and the message is clear: you just might be a jumpoff! A drum heavy beat and ill role reversal verse by Señor Kaos leads the track off and fades into Jazmine's vocals, such as they are. As individual pieces they work but together as a whole the finished product falls flat but that's not to say it's bad. It's a decent song but not the best and was probably the reason for it's omission from the album. But take a listen for yourself and leave us a love note and let us know what you think.

4-Ize x Señor Kaos x Anthony David - Hard To Quit The Rhyme

Señor Kaos sez, "This is the new joint from the homie 4-Ize Feat myself (Señor Kaos) and Grammy Nominated Soul Singer Anthony David. It's Produced by Locsmif (Floyd The Locsmif) who's worked with everybody from 50 Cent to O.C.

As an artist you put your heart and soul into your music (at least your'e suppose to) and with all the industry politricks, and bullsh*t, sometimes you just wanna say f*ck it.

This is for everyone who's ever thought about quitting something. Hopefully it inspires you"

Illastrate

I met Illastrate earlier this year at the Red Bull Music Academy and he gave me his Dirty Drum Mixtape. Immediately, it seemed, once I returned home I incessantly heard his name. First, on the critically acclaimed Black Noise LP, then with ATL native and BLS favorite Senor Kaos, on Dynas' upcoming The Apartment, most recently with Small Eyez feat Jaspects and finally this piece he has done by himself.
Allow me to present the first in a new series, While They're Still Here that he's doing, dedicated to the Living Legends of our time; first up Anita Baker.

Collective Efforts - Crazy Things

The CE Crew kicks off their album push with an up tempo tune, the debut single "Crazy Things." Recorded and produced by J Mil and Ben Hameen, the track showcases an ability to merge the raw boom bap of hip hop's roots with the intricacies of live musicianship. Collective Efforts presents this single with a video directed by Green Leather Sofa, Matt Ackerman and Chris Watson. The duo's vision matched the song's tone and served as a perfect kick off for what's to come from the CE Crew's fourth studio album, "Freezing World." Shouts out to Senor Kaos for sending this through!
