LoJ 'Kick Make Love (Living Single)'

There's a fine line between genius and insanity, and sometimes the line is so thin that's its almost the same thing. Some of the most creative and talented people were also the most eccentric, Einstein, Shakespeare, Michelangelo, Kanye. They were all bordering on insanity if not jumped it. It has to take a somewhat insane mind to come up with some of the most brilliant of work. Sometimes the idea works and makes people get behind it or sometimes it just epically fails and the creator gets exposed as the demented fools they are. And whatever category LoJ falls into, this crazy muthafu*ka might be onto something.

The thought of a rapper sampling the theme song to 'Living Single' is mind boggling and made me go wait, what, really, huh? Though crazier things have happened before. But the shear novelty of this at least deserved a fair listen, at least it got my attention, and I was pleasantly surprised at what I heard. Once you get over the source material and get down to the music LoJ has really created something worth respecting the same as any other good art. It's dope for now but let's just see how long this nut can keep us entertained before we have him committed.
