Vinyl? Check! # 20:The Stylistics Are So Good & More...

I was reading Waxpoetics #33 and noticed that it gave only a brief mention of The Stylistics time under the direction of Hugo & Luigi and Van McCoy. I pulled out Let's Put It All Together(1974) and Fabulous(1976) and was drawn to the song that was least likely to appear on a Stylistics' album. It's So Good was arranged by Van McCoy and Horace Ott but sounds like some Norman Whitfield produced songs from that era. It's So Good is one of those sensual, psychedelic tunes that makes you ponder if you should drop acid or make love to it. Either way it's dope. Check it out!

The Stylistics - It's So Good

This issue of Waxpoetics also mentions several versions of The Stylistics' People Make The World Go Round that are worth rounding up:
1) Ramsey Lewis - Upendo Ni Pamoja
2) Freddie Hubbard - Polar AC
3) Young-Holt unlimited - Plays Superfly
4) Introducing...The Ice Man's Band and
5) Milt Jackson's - Sunflower.
I have one of the 5, Milt Jackson's Sunflower, which features an all star cast: Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, Billy Cobham, Ralph MacDonald and Freddie Hubbard. Enjoy!

If you have some or all of the other four please feel free to share.
