Jern Eye - The Eye Exam Mixtape (Download)

To prepare for the October 13th release of his sophomore effort, Vision, MYX Music Label artist Jern Eye is pleased to release a free mixtape to tide over fans waiting to hear the new album. The Eye Exam is comprised of twenty tracks including album cuts, remixes, and rare and never before heard songs. Mixed by The Pharcyde's official DJ, Icewater, The Eye Exam gives current fans and virgin listeners alike a small taste of what to expect on the Bay Area emcee's forthcoming album.
The Eye Exam demonstrates Jern's lyrical dexterity and ability to adapt to any soundscape without losing his identity. On the track "Champion," Jern Eye demonstrates champion bravado by rapping
"...visualize the pinnacle, I see myself living it / Whether not they checking it / A couple thou' checking in / Riders in the Bay cold posting like a pelican / Some hella bent we on the grind like cinnamon / Sprinkle taste on'em / Now the slang's getting relevant."
With production from the likes of !llmind and Keelay & Zaire and cameos ranging from Stacy Epps to Guilty Simpson and Cali Agents to Dialated Peoples' own Rakaa Iriscience, it's evident that Jern Eye is comfortable behind the microphone solo or with peers and has no trouble at all holding his own with hip-hop's elite.
