Mayer Hawthorne is just dope, Period. Who would think a cat could posses this much soul nowadays. He is from Motown, however, and his influences range from Leroy Hutson to Holland Dozier Holland so you know he must know good music. His debut album Strange Arrangement drops on Stones Throw this fall (some speculate 9-9-2009).
